WART (the Winchester Augmented Reality Team) Sharing and Planning Meeting.

WART will meet on Tuesday evening from 7pm to 8:30pm, February 11th, 2025 in the Large Meeting Room at the Winchester Public Library, 80 Washington Street, Winchester MA 01890.  See the calendar entry here

Let's share ideas on what local artists think about extending their art into AR for 2025.  If you have an idea you wish to explore and work on, let me know (email: hello@wart.win) and I can help work out how realistic it might be with available tools.

Using AR as an alternative way to present information; for example, a tour of local sites with historical significance can reveal bits of history that are right here in town.  So the conversation is not limited to artists, and is available to anyone who sees and opportunity to explore sharing their information using AR to present that information via images, video, green screen video, portals (360 view) - image and video, attached or standalone soundtracks.

Here are a screenshot of a couple of stone statues scanned from the Egyptian collection at the MFA, and a video screen capture walking around the 3d scanned object:

These were scanned with the poly.cam app and inserted into the Library lobby.

You can walk around the statues when viewing them in the Hoverlay app.

Demonstrations of existing AR installations around Winchester can easily be done if you have not already used the Hoverlay app:

See the website https://www.wart.win/ for more information.  The blog https://blog.wart.win/ has examples of recent spaces created in AR.  If you wish to post your own newly created spaces let me know and I can give you access.

AMA (Ask Me Anything)

As always, ask me anything about AR about which you are curious.   I can refer the questions to others who know more about the industry, and until I get too busy I can help you with your AR project.  Resources are available from many people, including spherical cameras and green screens (both Peter E and I have portable ones, although the WinCAM studio has a large green screen space for wider / larger shots).

Send me an email at hello@wart.win  .
